Spurs Fans: Accept NO Excuses from Arsenal!

What a glorious morning it it to be a Spurs fan - even more so if you were lucky enough to share an office with one or more Goons. Unfortunately for me I got made redundant last week and worked with 3 of them - still, what better reason to get on a train and pay them a visit this afternoon?

I, like you, have waited a very long time for this moment and it has finally arrived - with bells on! We didn't just beat the Arse, we battered them, we routed them, we opened a can of whoop-ass and tanned their tender hides with it! Five glorious goals to one, man that feels good. Better yet is that they were so pissed off that they even started fighting each other - how wonderful!!!

If the last 2 paragraphs ring true for you then you will no doubt have heard the following words this morning: "Yes, but you only beat our reserves". What a laughable sentiment! Now I am not a follower of Arsenal, so I don't know who plays every week, but I was quite sure that Hleb, Adebaeyor, Fabregas and Gallas were all senior players. Denilson and Diaby are big talents only a season or so away from the first team and Walcott is a £12m World Cup verteran (ok, maybe I'm pushing it with that one!).

You may also have heard that "It's only a tin-pot trophy, who cares?". Well believe me, they care. When you get to ANY semi-final you have to take it seriously, and their team selection should tell you they did. There is the possibility that Arsenal will finish the season with no silverware - do you think they'd have taken the League Cup if that turns out to be the case?

The last defence of the scoundrel may be "Well it took you 9 years" and yes, they may have a point here. But for much of that time Tottenham were fielding dross and Arsenal were in their pomp with Henry dazzling the world. The 2 games in the league this season were hardly one sided affairs and my response would be... 5 - 1, yes 5 - 1, suck on that!

So come on you Gooners, I deliberately put the word Arsenal in the title to reel you in, you must be smarting today!

Totally Agree :)

Yes, it took us nine years to beat them, and I would never say that we didn't deserve to get beaten most of the time, but surely anyone can see we were desperately unlucky in a good few of those games over that time. I could see this win coming - we had outplayed them in both of our last two matches against them but we just didn't have any luck! Can't say I would have predicted 5-1 though.

Brilliant! You just summed up my feelings perfectly. Do you mind if I quote a piece of your text in my signature?

5-1... we beat the scum 5-1, we beat the scum 5-1, we beat the scum 5-1 :-)

I don't get up to the Lane much but was luck enough to be there last night, and what a night!

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE'RE OF TO WMBLEY COS WE BEAT THE ARRR-SENAL.......

They underestimated us, over estimated the depth of their squad, and tactically had no answers... we beat them, and there can be no excuses...

The team he chose all said they were capable, he said they were more than capable.. and he also said he wouldn't change his team for the 2nd leg.. the fibber. Eduardo, Gallas, Sagna... to name a few players who might take exception to being called 'second string', in fact, i think arsenals 3 best players featured last night... Fabregas, Adebayor, and Hleb.

We beat the scum fair and square.... and there isn't/wasn't a damn thing they can do about it.

COME ON YOU SPURS!!!!!!!!! DL - North London

I really don't know who wasn't playing for Arsenal that would have changed the game in their favour. Fabregas practically played the whole game and I am not really convinced that it was a real injury that brought him on that early. Yes, Adebayor is a big talent and showed it when he came on but Eduardo doesn't play every game, neither does Rosicky. Eboue and Toure were missing yes but then we had Blae missing and Zokora on AN duty. They had Fabianski in goal but then Spurs had Cerny who has only just been put into the first team from the reserves. Walcott is a first teamer, so is Bender or whatever his name is. I think the only guy that hasn't played games in the Prem is Hoyte. (Sorry if the spellings are bad). All in all I just think the "kids" tag is a cop out. They will always use that to rubbish the result but both them and us know that it was a humiliating result for a team that desperately wanted to beat us in our own back yard, and if you don't believe that then just look at the two Arsenal players fighting, it certainly meant something to them!!

Did you listen to that ungracious bastard Wenger last night.

Any other manager in the league would have accepted that Tottenham were better on the night and wished them good luck in the final.

What did he say "this competition is not important to this club and we were unlucky"

That's not what your face was saying at about half past nine mate!!!

They try and play Spurs style of football, but the SCUM must learn to loose with the same style and grace....but then again we are talking about Arsenal!!

I believe the Whinger also said "I feel that everything went against us tonight. The score is very brutal but doesn't reflect what ive seen on the pitch." Really? After hearing him, in true Whinger style saying he " didnt see" his two young forwards going at it in the middle of the pitch, Im actually inclined to believe him. Considering his comments above, he clearly wasn't watching the match at all!!

Wengers comments yesterday.."Spurs have nothing to play for, they should prepare for the next season,I am convinced that my team will will go through."

Gallas,Fabianski,Adebayors comments "Tottenham had their chance to win it but they blew it,we will have no trouble in winning this,we have the psychological edge."

Poyets after match comments said it all..Thanks for the extra motivation scumbags.

Enjoy guys - probably another ten years before you get the same feeling again! Carling cup final - wow...

You lot cannot be serious--bendtner is not a first teamer, he is sometimes not even on the bench, neither is walcott. Gilberto is not a first team player, traore isn't hoyte isn't.
You need a reality check.
Well but at least totteringham has a chance to win a "trophy" this year...lol

Anonymous said...

Sour grapes me finks, accept defeat like we have had to do for so long, Bendtner not a first teamer, lol you didn't say that when he rescued you at the emirates !!

oh boy - the cocks are really crowing today aren't they! i even saw some joker on the tube this morning waving his spurs scarf in an old ladies face and singing spurs are on their way to wembley at everybody else! you guys have got deep problems.
but in fairness you deserved the win and should be proud - but the gloating over a ridiculous carling cup win over our deliberately weakend side is embarrasing.
come back when you beat us for real yes?

Not to take away from your "glory" but lets not get carried away here Spurs..

It was, at best, a half-strength Arsenal team. (If you consider 2 starters out of 11 to be half-strength)

I won't say Arsenal aren't disappointed with the loss, but we're certainly not devastated by it.

Go ahead and gloat for a few days, but please leave it at that.

Your biggest moment of glory in well over a decade came in the Carling Cup in a match that, face it, your enemies didn't really care about. Shows how small your club really is.

I reckon Aldershot could do Arsenal if they had 23 chances at it.

Enjoy the next 10 years of heartbreak.

Mind the gap..

13.19, sorry, was last night not a real game then??? You fucking losers! Your worse than old 'I didnt see it' Wenger You lost to the better side last night that had at least half - 3/4 of your regular 1st 11 and by the end it was more than that while we put out our reserves... You were lucky in the league game at the immergrants where we should have won and you were lucky to get a draw in the first leg... I can feel a power shift comming, it wont be too long now! We are defo going to Wembley this year, are you lot? Probably not! COYS!!!!

Anonymous said...

13.23, If the club arent bothered about the 3rd biggest loss in Wengers time at you shit hole club, Why were they all fighting with each other? Not the sort of attitude you'd have if you couldnt care less. Admit it, your losers!

THIS Gooner accepts that the Spurs played better last night. Well done. You could have won both matches at the Emirates this season too.
Ramos will get your club into an upward spiral - and we can all look forward to some great derbies in the next few years.

A couple of other points:

1. No excuses...BUT: It was a team full of top players - but it wasn't a team picked to win. It was a team picked to have a chance of winning. You may well have beaten whatever team Arsene put out, but we'll not know that.

2. Arsene made a mistake. The Carling Cup final will kick start Tottenham's season - and it could have been the beginning of a glorious run for us too. Lastly...

3. If Jenas CAN play like that - what the *** has been doing for the last few years?

Adios

Anonymous said...

Gunner Reality, been wondering the samething myself about Jenas! lol At least you are gracious enough to admit the better side won and we unlucky not to twice at your place, one of which certainly was a full strength team.

You utter mugs. It says something about the state your team is that the best thing to happen to you for 10 years is beating us.

Compare that with what we have to remember.

Then remember who has spent more over the last 5 years.

End of the story, you get knocked out by Everton or Chelsea and we finish in the top three, ahead of you AGAIN.

You mugs.

Anonymous said...

Well said gunnerreality. I think you're right about Ramos and I too am looking forward to some cracking derbies in the next few years.
Come On You Spurs!

Frank said...

YES!!! I knew I'd get a few angry gooners on here...

...that just makes it all the sweeter!

Anonymous said...

We beat the South London Scum 5-1. I've never known such bad losers and such poor supporters, leaving the ground after 60 minutes!!!
Whats going to happen when Ars leaves and you drop down the table? Are you going to turn up to any matches or just pay for half the ticket because you'll only watch half a match when you lose??

Anonymous said...

Yes I appreciate a good ubiased look at the numbers with no excuses:

Carling Cup Semi Final, WHL:
Spurs 5 = Brilliant
Arsenal 1 = Shambolic

League titles:
Arsenal 13 = Excellent
Spurs 2 = Pathetic

Given the current rate of two titles pr century it will take Spurs more than 500 years to get to where Arsenal is today.

So no argueing about the numbers from the Arsenal

Anonymous said...

You're only as good as you're last game eh Stynet?!? Lol!

Anonymous said...

ie - not very good at all!

Anonymous said...

Stynet.... hahahhaha......

You lot were a small club before whinger took over....

As for your reserves... 2 world cup winners, every player on the pitch apart from hoyte has played in champs league this season, fabregas and adebayor are your best players.....

i hate arsenal.. its the fans that make me that way, i've never seen a bunch of people know less about football.
