The constant media hounding is taking it's toll on supporters, even myself - a staunch Jolist, has started to become brainwashed and my views on Jol's tenure change daily - sometimes even hourly! However, the manager himself still believes in us, Martin Jol has come out and said that:
"I feel there are two worlds here in London. There are you guys (journalists) and then there are the supporters who read your papers. It's amazing, no? Although they read your papers, they're still backing me. That's a great feeling."My question to you is this: When the chips are down with what army do you stand? No wishy-washy answers dependant of a variety of circumstances will be allowed here, it's a case of right now - either for or against?
Is Jol right, are we with him? Please vote in the poll in the top left of his page and by the end of the day perhaps we will find out...

I used to be a staunch Jol supporter, but now, I think that his position is untenable.My main reason for my change in stance is that Spurs have been "unlucky" eg, last minute goal v Sunderland, A defender clattering in to Robinson leaving an unguarded net for Evertons 2nd goal and a deflection for their 3rd. A deflected shot for Man U's winner and a deflection and a shinned overhead kick v Fulham. some great chances to go further ahead v Arsenal. Someone in Football I think once said it's better to be lucky rather than good.
I'm still a Jolist and will be until I have reason to believe otherwise. If Levy hadn't highjacked this season I think we wouldn't even be having this discussion.
JOL BROUGHT US HERE! Let us not forget. We owe him at least one benefit of the doubt...maybe more.

i think the problem with the spurs fans is that they cannot distinguish between liking Jol as a character, who's funny and harmless-looking, and Jol as a manager, who perhaps has taken Spurs as far as he can.

Jol's a great guy and I think a great man manager, but he is not a great coach and I think most PL managers could have got us to where we are with the squad we have without too much effort. Problem is Jol has been here 3 years now and still doesnt know his best team which is a big problem. Would prefer to have Hughton sacked and Jol pushed bcak to being number 2 with a proven tactician bought in as head coach - if Jol is the fan he says he is then surely he would agree this is better for the club and go along with it... The man woho would have been ideal is simple, the man who should be the current England manager, a certain Mr Sam Alladyce!!!

It's simple really. Look at it objectively. Do you want Spurs to win the Premier League? If so, then we have to beat the teams who have been the "Top 4" for the last several seasons. Have we managed to do that with Jol...answer, yes....once in the last three years. Is this progress towards winning the title...I say no. Therefore, Jol should go.
I am a big Jol fan and he has got us further than any other manager in recent years but Jol is no tactician, this has been proven over and over again from last season to present day.You don't leave a £16m player on the bench for most of the game when your players on the pitch aren't performing let alone scoring.
Have faith in the Jol, i dont want us to be forever changing managers every 2 years or so, we need stability and Jol is the best we've had for a long time. I dont want some bloke who cant speak much english coming over and managing us just cos we are willing to give him a bucket of cash. I want Jol to do it, he is a man with a mission, and he loves the Spurs.
Let's not forget than Jol was number two at Spurs until Arnesen, he has done well bringing in players but he's not a good coach
I've had enough of Jol, he has had a good team to work with but has gone as far as he can. Simple as this, do you all want to be a top three team? Of course. Is Jol better than fergie moany wenger or benitez? Massively not. Ramos will do to this team what benitez has done and take them from a bunch of good players with no spine to hardened winners.
I mean, what the hell do we do in training? 3rd season and we still can't defend a cross! We still blow leads, we still fall apart in the last ten minutes, we still concede goals from 30 yards to lose the game, we have only just put a left footer on the left wing and Jol still makes stupid substitutions. I just can't put up with it and have run out of excuses down the pub

The board have spent millions and millions on players and Jol can't get them to perform. On paper our squad should be challenging top 4, Jol can't do it though.
His record against the top 4 speaks for itself. He has no tactical brain and no amount of personal affection for him will change my mind that as a manager he is not up to the job.
I too have been a Jol supporter and have been immensely proud of the new Spurs over the last two seasons. But someone has already said we feel sorry for the big teddy bear rather than really believ in him. Where would you rank him against Ferguson, Mourinho, Benitez and yes Wenger. And maybe the likes of Martin O'Neill and Sven? I don't think he can hold a candle to the top four. The substitution of lennod for Bale was hugely ineefective and left us with JJ's deadball deliveries which are not really up to much most of the time. Sorry but everybody around me had no sympathy for BMJ and wanted him gone... I know passions were high but seriously he has probably taken us as far as he can. Too many dosgy tactical decisions ridiculous loyalty to an out of form Keane and really no creativity when he needs it. I am afraid to break into the top four we will need a manager as good as those mananging them. Finally I think it was Sven that stated that over on the continent manages expect to be moved on regularly sometimes despite achievements(like Real Madrid)and although consistency is a good thing you have to have the calibre to stick with of likes of Wenger and Ferguson.
I tink all of us will be sorry if Jol goes but for the man and not for the manager.
Get Real!...even if Spurs employed Wenger, Mourinho, Ferguson, Benitez...Spurs WILL NOT break into CL spoot WITH THE CURRENT SQUAD.

After the revelation on Sky's Sunday Supplement yesterday that Spurs spoke to Ramos because they found out that Jol had approached another Premiership club, and clubs in Holland, regarding a bigger paying job, it's hard to back him anymore. he claims love for the club and wants loyalty, but is going to other clubs for bigger money. The fat man has been spin doctoring the Spurs faithful for the last couple of years.
I can't help but like the guy and have always supported him until recently but his tactics have started to look unimaginative at best. Some of the recent substitutions have left me baffled.
A team that have finished fifth in the Premier league for the last two consecutive seasons 'lacking in confidence' why ?? What's not to be confident about ?? We were fifth !! Twice !! Who or what is undermining our teams confidence and making our match day resolve so brittle ?? Like it or not, our Nth London rivals gave us a harsh lesson in what team spirit, positivity and self belief can achieve on Saturday. I reckon their attitude stems from their manager.
I saw the Sky revelation as well, if it's true then it is a whole new dimension. I like the guy, but I am tired of screaming at the telly because Jenas can't a corner!

Any manager who repeatedly picks Jenas should not be allowed near a dressing room, let alone manage a team like Spurs.Because of him, we have become the laughing stock of football.

What the club really needs now is a period of stability to allow this group of young players to develop under Martin Jol and put an end to the hysterical clamour for a new manager to take us to the 'Next Level'. Count the number of managers we have had in the last ten years and what they have achieved, nothing. Changing the man at the top after two years of genuine progress would be madness. BE PATIENT!!!
