What a predicament Redschnapps finds himself in. In recent weeks Nico Kranjcar has been simply phenomenal. When he is playing like this he's just about the complete midfielder, quick on the ball, hard to dispossess, sublime passing, cutting through balls, silky tricks, hard work, tough tackling, tracking back, scoring goals (and what a goal that second one was). The boy has demonstrated every one of these qualities - I think there's a good arguement to suggest he's been our best player in something like 4 of the last 5 games. Talent and consistency - God help us!
Old 'Arry has come out singing his praises on numerous occasions, the end result must surely be that Krancjar is undroppable. With Modders on the brink of a full return, is someone set for disappointment? I thought Modric had a cracking cameo against Wolves and looked, from my lofty position in corporate hospitality (which was bloody brilliant by the way), like he was taking up a central position.
However, while I think this is probably his best position, it's no secret that Redknapp likes two strong fellas in the middle. Huddlestone and Wilson have developed a good partnership, and Harry doesn't look like dropping either of them any time soon. But can Kranjcar really keep Modric on the bench for much longer? Lennon, Palacious, Kranjcar, Modric. I think we'd score at least 5 every time we play! But is it too lightweight?
I don't know the answer, but I'm posing the question. How can you accommodate someone in Kranners' form and someone of Modders' ability - and does the answer spell the end for Jenas and/or bench time for The Incredible Hudd?

well... THUD will have to drop into CB if Ledders or Woody doesnt get fit for Jan (when we lose Bassong).. So unless Sandro is signed, we will have to put Modric in the centre with Wilson. Unless he is going to play Jenas...
I know we're not allowed to mention them, but Arsenal play with Fabregas in the middle, finding little pockets of space by using his movement. I see Modric as a similar type player. As you say Kranjcar works very hard and so has Lennon too of recent times, so along with Palacios I think we'd have even if Modric was in there. I'd like to see us try it.
Lennon, Kranjcar, Modric and Palacios can work IMHO, with Modric and Kranjcar swapping positions during the course of games played. Too lightweight? Kranjcar isnt the smallest of players..he can put in a tackle and sit back with Palacios if need be ...COYS!...
I'd keep the midfield as is, palacios sitting a bit deeper, drop a stiker (defoe on his own) and have modric playing central just behind Defoe... Personally.
Play them both in a five man midfield and leave Crouch on the bench for when a change is required. Let Modric play behind Defoe ala Gerrard for Liverpool
and whos gonna play centre back if ledley and woddy dont get fit
I think we shoul play huddlestone in cb for wen the Cameroon internationals bass nd assou go to the cup of nations.. And give this midfeild a try:
kranjar..modric..sgt palacios..Aaron Lennon
now with midfeild options like tht who sed were not a top 4 contendors. the speed and skills of azza and krancjar, the power of palacios and the beautiful football and passes which no1 thinks are possible from our lil croat modders we will have goals coming our way bcoz we will get balls being put in the box and Defoe will always put them in the net.... COYS
i say have lennon, palacios, modric and kranjcar, and when we play a opposition with alot of bite like bolton, blackburn etc. throw huddlestone in there or sandro if we get him, with wilson.
I like this 5 man midfield idea.
We dont wamt a 5 man midfield
weve tried the diamond and failed
miserably.
We are best at 4-4-2 anyone can see that.
All you do is ease the most useless
out first thats why Jenas is now a make weight, im very happy to say.
The next to make way has to be THUDD on ability.
So the midfield 4 picks itself, if
all fit, its Lennon, Modric, The great
Sgt Wilson we havent lost many with
him ball winning, are you reading this Jenas who actually thinks hes good and should be playing in the
World Cup, and Krancar.
